POETRY

Entrance

I nestled into the deep and dark

places, damp and wet breezes,

shivering, and aimed my flashlight

into the dark. Dim light filled

the empty spaces, a fullness

of emptiness, and an abyss

of possibilities awaiting,

and after pausing, for what

was only a second, but felt like

an eternal avalanche of a hope

tumbling, a fire barely breathing,

I stepped forth into the darkness,

glowing embers melting away the

edges, until only my core remains.
